Tjasa Rener ART RESIDENCY WITH 1957 GALLERY, ACCRA

Gallery 1957 is proud to have had the brilliant artist Tjasa Rener in residency for the past two months.

Ghana-based Slovenian artist, Rener has studied painting at Academy of Fine Arts & Design at University of Ljubljana and printmaking at Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Zagreb, Croatia and has participated in many group and solo exhibitions around the globe.

Her artistic expression is influenced by the everyday life of people in Ghana and the relationship among home, family, and society.

During her residency at Gallery 1957, Rener has painted a number of large and medium portraits with extremely fast strokes of paint and charcoal through a sketchy technique that defines her unique aesthetic by capturing her personal impression of the person portrayed. Every figure she has painted has a particular relationship to Gallery 1957 and posed during a life painting session in her studio.


We look forward to exhibiting her work in Accra in her first solo exhibition with the gallery opening later this year.

Group exhibition: NOVE PRIDOBITVE 2010-2022, Koroška Galerija Likovnih Umetnosti, Slovenia

Kontinuirano zbiranje umetniških del ter dopolnjevanje zbirke z  odkupi, donacijami in volili je ena najpomembnejših nalog KGLU. Med letoma 2010 in 2022 je KGLU svojo zbirko dopolnila z 874 umetniškimi deli. Na razstavi novih pridobitev bo predstavljen izbor del,  ki so bila v  različnih postavitvah večinoma sicer že razstavljena, v zbirko pa so bila vključena bodisi kot odkup ali donacija.  

Zbirka KGLU temelji na zbiralni strategiji, povezani s programskimi smernicami, ki sledijo več osnovnim linijam: prvo predstavlja zbiranje umetniških del, ki se v aktualnem trenutku ukvarjajo z angažiranimi družbenimi temami, drugo linijo pa predstavlja zbiranje del koroških avtorjev. Kontinuirano se dopolnjuje tudi sklop Hommage Tisnikarju, v zbirki pa so tudi dela, ki ne sledijo nobeni od zastavljenih linij, a so v specifičnih okoliščinah postala njen del.

Izbrana dela na razstavi so bila vključena v zbirko v preteklih dvanajstih letih, vsebinsko pa bo razstava sledila glavnim linijam zbiralne strategije KGLU.

Razstava bo na ogled od 14. aprila do 19. junija 2022.
